About Me:

Hope Bass is a mixed media artist who enjoys any form of art that consists of working with her hands. She works in various mediums, including ceramics, sculpture, pottery, mixed media, stone carving, painting, drawing, metal, woodworking, and flowers. She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree, with an emphasis in sculpture, from the University of Central Oklahoma and received her Masters of Fine Arts in Integrated Visual Arts from Iowa State University.

Throughout college and graduate school, Hope has worked at a flower shop, where she learned and explored creatively expressing herself through designing flower arrangements. Hope has always loved being around children and having the opportunity to share her passion for art with others of all ages of life. She had the opportunity to teach at a summer art camp in 2019. She taught hand-building clay techniques to elementary students and saw imaginations come to life through the medium of clay. Hope is a member of the Oklahoma Visual Arts Coalition (OVAC), the Student Oklahoma Education Association (SOEA), and a part of the College of Fine Arts and Design Student Advisory Council. She has been the recipient of numerous awards and scholarships, such as the Bob E. Palmer Scholarship for Visual Arts (2020), the Piper Family Scholarship for the Arts (2020), the Dr. Janet Jordan White Endowed Graduate Research Scholarship (2019) and the Valerie Kohnen Memorial Scholarship, Iowa State University, Ames, IA (2022), and was awarded the First Place Sculpture, Iowa State Fair Art Exhibition (2022).
